San Antonio native Sam Hurt arrested on drug charges
San Antonio native, former Dallas Cowboys player, and now former Chicago Bears wide receiver, Sam Hurd, could be facing up to 40 years behind bars and and a $2 million fine for felony drug charges.
The 26 year-old was arrested by undercover Homeland Security agents who met with him. Hurd told the undercover agents that he was interested in purchasing 1,000 pounds of marijuana and five to ten kilograms of cocaine a week to expand his drug distribution ring.
Hurd’s lawyer says he plans on fighting the charges and says the rumor that he sold drugs to fellow NFL players is 100% false. His arrest stunned his teammates, coaches, and Bears’ general manager.
